If you have gemstones that are sentimental or especially valuable, creating new jewellery with them is an exciting challenge for us. We have been designing heirlooms as a way to embrace vintage gemstones—whether it is in the form of a ring with an inherited diamond that honours a family member, or crafting jewellery using loose, unworn gemstones.

CASE STUDY
Sculptural commission
In this commission, the client wanted to recycle a selection of vintage 9-karat gold jewellery, repurposed into a centrepiece. Drawing from modern art, we spent approximately 11 months developing the design and making sure every detail had an exceptional finish. The abstract sculpture was matched with a base made from wenge wood.

Answering your jewellery remodelling questions
What types of metals can you consider for remodelling?
We accept precious metal jewellery in gold, silver, and platinum for remodelling consideration.
Each submission is assessed individually; eligibility is confirmed during the appraisal stage, not before.
Can my existing gemstones or pearls be used in the new design?
Stones set into eligible pieces — including diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, and pearls — may be retained and incorporated into the new design where condition and setting integrity allow.

Do I need a clear design idea before getting in touch?
We welcome any enquiries. Whether you already have a design concept or you are at the early stages of gathering inspiration, we invite you to contact us first to share your existing piece and your vision for it. Our expertise will guide you to the most suitable option.
Are there any pieces or types of work you will not accept?
We do not rework costume or base-metal jewellery.
Stones assessed as damaged, poorly proportioned for re-setting, or incompatible with the proposed design may be returned rather than incorporated.
We are not a repair or restoration service; remodelling is a design-led transformation.
What do you check when assessing my piece?
Your piece is assessed for metal purity, stone condition, and structural integrity. We examine whether the existing material is suitable for reworking and advise on any constraints — including stones that cannot be re-set safely or metal that requires supplementing. A clear summary of findings, design possibilities, and costs is provided before any work begins. Nothing proceeds without your approval.
How will you show me the proportions and appearance of the proposed design?
Depending on the style and intricacy of the new design, we produce either a watercolour and gouache rendering or a digital drawing to clarify proportions, materials, and final scale — minimising ambiguity between the jeweller and the client.
Could the design require additional metal or gemstones?
Yes, we typically give an estimate in the initial consultation. Where the brief calls for it, we supplement your existing metal or gemstones with matching materials. We will proceed only with your written agreement.
How long might remodelling take, and can you work towards a particular date?
Remodelling timelines vary with design complexity. We provide a clear schedule at the point of approval and share updates at each stage of the commission. If you have a due date — a milestone, an anniversary, a proposal — please include it in your initial enquiry so we can advise on feasibility from the outset.
How do I book an appointment to discuss my jewellery?
To explore what might be possible, complete our bespoke enquiry form with a few basic details — including the piece you would like to remodel and any design ideas or timelines you have in mind.

How would I get my jewellery to you for assessment?
Once we have a shared understanding of the brief, we ask you to send the piece to our London studio by insured, tracked post or by arrangement for hand-delivery. We acknowledge receipt and keep you informed throughout.
Will my remodelled piece need a new hallmark?
For UK orders, all remodelled pieces leave our studio finished and hallmarked.
International orders will not require the hallmark.
How should I care for a finished piece, and are there any aftercare services available?
We recommend the same care practices as for any fine jewellery: store separately, avoid contact with chemicals and abrasives, and have settings checked periodically, particularly for pieces worn daily. We are always available for aftercare questions.
