What is jewellery remodelling?

The process of transforming existing jewellery into a new piece is called remodelling. This can involve melting and refining old precious jewellery, taking off gemstones from a setting to remount, or modifying part of an existing piece with new metal to refresh the design. By keeping materials in the "loop", we can also reduce the environmental impact of traditional linear economy and, to an extent, contribute towards a more sustainable future. Our service invites you to drop off your pieces for remodelling and we will send or hand-deliver the new creation to you.

No matter if your jewellery is new or vintage, silver or gold, acquired from another store or passed down, we can design and recreate it to suit your preferences.

Jewellery redesign

From vintage gemstones to modern heirlooms

We can repurpose gemstones from old jewellery to retain the value embedded into these materials. If you have gemstones that are sentimental or especially valuable, creating new jewellery with them is an exciting challenge for us. We have been designing heirlooms as a way to embrace vintage gemstones—whether it is in the form of a ring with an inherited diamond that honours a family member, or crafting jewellery using loose, unworn gemstones.

By continuing this practise, we embrace gemstones for their rich stories and the emotional significance they carry into new life as part of your contemporary design.

Conscious choices

Recycled metals

At TVRRINI, we take action on continuous sustainability development by offering recycled gold and silver options that reduce mining impacts while maintaining exceptional quality. We repurpose precious metals from vintage and heirloom jewellery, giving them new life as well as preserving their history and character. These metals undergo a thorough refining process to ensure they meet our high standards.

Transforming materials into contemporary designs gives them new life while preserving their history and character.

Craftsmanship as living heritage

When we talk about heritage, there’s often a tendency to treat it as something static—locked in a museum case or preserved in its “original” form. But jewellery art is alive and dynamic.

The magic happens in our atelier, where we honour both craftsmanship traditions and environmental responsibility. Each remodelling project involves creative dialogue between old and new, as it resists obsolescence by ensuring that artisanal skills are preserved and applied in new contexts to reflect your aesthetics and values.

Craftsmanship allows heritage to be reinterpreted and celebrated daily through its ongoing relevance.

CASE STUDY

Personalised Sculpture

In this commission, the client wanted to recycle a selection of vintage 9-karat gold jewellery, repurposed as an abstract sculpture. Drawing from modern art for inspiration, we spent approximately 11 months articulating the design and making sure every detail had an exceptional finish. The sculpture was matched with a based made from wenge wood for a striking centrepiece.

With meticulous attention to detail and design, this sculpture upholds our reputation for exceptional craftsmanship.
